Not much good in a drought

J did a conference thingy recently that was partly sponsored by Sydney Water. They were giving away all these environmentally friendly shopping bags that amongst other things, contained a water bottle.

Now I thought this was a great thing, as my current bike bottle is two years old and so covered in road grease and oil that I can barely hang onto it. And it doesn't taste that great any more. And the lid is loose, so I end up with half the contents down my front when I have a drink.

So the fancy blue Sydney Water bottle was a godsend, except for one small design floor.

The lid doesn't fit.

How about that? Sydney Water produces a thing for holding water, and it's no good. What does that say about them as a company? That their pipes leak like a drunk on a Friday night? That they couldn't organise a bomb blast in Baghdad?

I did manage to get the lid on at the end, but it involved the use of a considerable amount of force - so much so, that the bottle was a few inches shorter by the time I had put the lid on.

We thought this might have been a one off, so J checked through more bags.

All of them were like this.

Their marketing people should be shot.
